Finally going to get to scratch my 22 Hornet itch.

CA 10 day clock is running on this one now. It's a 40's or early 50's vintage Savage 23D with a post reticle scope.


Oh goodie, another caliber to load for.

In addition to picking up a couple hundred fps or so, your brass will last lots longer, because it doesn't stretch as much!!!

I used to work with a guy who went to South Dakota every year to shoot prairie dogs, and the K-Hornet was his rifle of choice. Seen him make hits at stupid distances with it. Used to make the guys with .22-250s and .220 Swifts really mad!

I bbet that would make a dandy little "walking" rifle. Enjoy it.

Yeah, I need to ponder the path to take. Don't have any dies or brass yet. The K is very attractive option though the chamber ream is an added step and cost to weigh.

I don't think I've ever heard of the .22 K-Hornet..... A little google searching shows that it looks like a dandy cartridge though.

Also, much more consistent, because the increased case capacity, something the Hornet has issues with, due to the extremely tiny case, making minor powder variances cause huge swings in velocity.
