Cheapest air rifle practice

Post by Dub_James »

What's the most inexpensive, WalMart bargain bin way to get some meaningful indoor trigger practice that's useful?

They make some nice air gun traps , and their are a whole host of air gun options. I like the Gamo stuff have a couple , when I lived on more acreage I had metal targets in trees at 25 50 75 100 yards arround the house , used a 1x red dot sight helped a lot with my off hand . Good luck.

Get a daisy Red Rider.

At indoor ranges it is exactly what you need. For a backstop, hang a throw blanket or a piece of rug.

The red-rider is perfect for trigger time, and is silent. The break barrel rifles sound like a .22lr indoors. (Even the silenced ones)

No bullshit, it's the rifle I use, and I own 6 airguns. A simple, cheap 20 dollar investment will keep you busy for hours, and it is PLENTY for shooting army men off the top of the dresser.

Quiet is definitely a plus :)

Have to buy some army men now, too...

Well, 30 dollars, but still a bargain. I prefer it to higher dollar pellet rifles at close range.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Besides airguns, you might consider picking up some Speer training bullets

Linky thingy

Midway USA has them for $8.59 for a box of 50 (you have to buy a box of the plastic shells and a seperate box of the plastic bullets)
Along with a box of the appropriate pistol primers. So, for an initial investment of about $50 you get 1000 rounds of training ammo. The plastic cases and bullets are re-usable. They are about as loud as a cap gun when used indoors. I used to set up a piece of hanging carpet as a back drop and it worked fine. Accuracy is decent out to about 15 feet. They are available in .38/.357, .44, and .45 ACP. The .45 ACP bullets you have to use empty brass casings.

I have a Crosman Powermaster, a lot of plastic, but it puts bbs or pellets out pretty nicely.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
