I need an M16 blank adapter for firing M200 blanks. I know that Amazon sells them, but I'm hoping that one of you old military guys has one you're willing to part with cheap.
I could have liberated a hunnerd of them when I was active, but I never thought I'd need one.

Don't have any lying around but you can get them
here for $18.00 and shipping.

FYI:
The
red one is for full-sized barrels.
M4s and M-forgerys with carbine-length barrels want a
yellow one.
If this is an honor guard/funeral detail, it likely won't matter a bit.
For sustained usage/training firing, you may notice the difference, and wish to acquire the correct type.

A friend of mine comes by the other day and hands me a few 5x56 blanks and says "Do you have a golf ball launcher for your AR?" My first thought was what the hell would I want with a golf ball launcher? Anyway long story short, it arrived yesterday and now I'm out of blanks just that fast. Giggles for sure. Did you know that you can get about 150 golf balls on e-bay for $40 bucks? Do now.
Great fun. I had to have a flash hider installed on my AR 'cause I got it during the Clinton panic period. The gunsmith did a great job and the launcher works quite nicely. I will begin experimenting on making my own blanks in the near future.

I'm waiting for the inevitable mix of peanut butter and chocolate:
Someone (either active duty or retired military is about a 60/40 probability) organizing an AR-15 Golf Tournament, and a new sport is born.
One load, all range adjustment is by Kentucky windage, anything on the green can be putted, anything off the green must be fired in.

We had an estate sale last weekend down the street. Evidently the guy was a golf fanatic, had 8 sets of clubs and framed sets of golf balls. In front of the house was an earthenware planter about 4 feet high and 5 feet around. The estate people said on that one, if you can carry it away, it's free. Someone got energetic, started digging the dirt out and, after a foot of dirt, found the rest of the pot filled with, you guessed it, golf balls.
Now I use them as targets when I'm at the range with my .22s, have even launched a few over the 30 foot back berm from 65 feet. I don't even want to know how many golf balls were in that pot.

It's somewhat common for golfers to memorialize certain achievements - first time they get a whole in one, first time they shoot under par, first time they break 80, etc. They typically put up the ball they did it with on display. Some also display balls collected from famous golfers at major events, sorta like baseball cards...

Awww, jeez. Do you know what you've just done to me? You've opened a whole 'nuther line of wondering. I've never played golf, but I can see a world of opportunity here. I wonder what would happen if I showed up at the next law enforcement golf outing with an AR and a putter?

Several family members are trying to get me to take up golf, but I've resisted. I wonder if I can get a golf ball launcher for my Garand or Mosin Nagant?
Edited because I fat-fingered a couple words posting from my phone.

Aww, dammit, now a whole 'nuther line of thought. Get the barrel threaded and see what happens.
I'm thinking a whole line of blanks, color coded for yardage. Red is 300 yards, blue is 250 yards, green is 150 yards, etc. Kind of like the irons in the bag. Fire the rifle from the shoulder at the tee, once on the fairway, the butt of the rifle is placed on the grass and used like a mortar.
This might turn golf into an interesting game.
