Let's do the rolling stone thing the right way. First, let's define dangerous
1. Availability
2. Lethality
3. Ease of use by untrained persons
4. Firepower
5. Prevalence in criminal activity
6. Cost
7. Accident prone
Now with that criteria, let's give it a 1-10 scale. For example, a fully automatic MP5 would rank high on lethality and ease of use, but fairly low on availability, cost, and prevalence of criminal activity. A glock would rank higher in accident prone than a muzzle loader, for example.
List your favorite, and why!

This one.
1. Universal, since some 100,000 years hence.
2. People react poorly to combustion. (Except for 1/4th of the Fantastic Four, apparently.)
3. Even a caveman can do it.
4. Millions of acres, billion$ in damages, hundreds of deaths annually, on a regular basis. Previously has wiped out London, Chicago, and much of San Francisco.
5. Thousands of arsons per year
6. $3.50
7. Probably half of all occurrences.

Yogi, this is an excellent idea, really. I had the same argument at a graduate seminar on terrorism. Looking at risk (predict, plan, mitigate, etc.) without looking at likelihood is just foolishness.

I would imagine that the widespread prevalence of the Glock would make it number one. Despite the low price of the Hi-Point, even the gangstas want something that will go bang every time. The Glock is the next cheapest option that is reliable, easy to use, low maintenance, and has a large capacity.
After that, .22 pistols and rifles, and Remington 870's.

Hi Points are surprisingly reliable, they just are this size and weight of a brick, and are low capacity.

I thought it was Lorcin/Bryco/phoenix/Ravin/Davis that were the crime guns, more than hi point, although I expect thats catching up.

I happened to have the chance to shoot a Hi-Point .40 the other day, you couldn't load more than 7 rounds in the mag if it was to be at all reliable, and even then I had some jams. Wasn't impressed. The owner said it was picky about feeding hollow-points as well.

Texas Ranger Charlie Miller had the perfect response to this idiocy:
One time, during a firearms training session, a Texas DPS instructor saw Miller’s gun, with the tied down safety, and asked, “Mr. Miller, isn’t that dangerous?” Miller quickly shot back, “Son, if the damned old thing wasn’t dangerous, I wouldn’t be wearing it!”

Really? I use to have a .45 that was as reliable as my old Toyota pickup. I couldn't kill either one.

[strike]Five[/strike] Six most dangerous handguns
In the World
(unlike the ignorant leftists, I understand there is a whole world out there besides the United States, and everything isn't like here*.
Gavrilo Princep for effect alone.
The Nagant, favored by the Cheka
The Makarov, favored by the NKVD/KGB
Whatever the Red Chinese favored
P08 Luger favored by the Gestapo
P38 favored by the Einsatz Gruppen
And we haven't even got to what the Argentine Generals preferred to use to "disappear" people in the 70's, or the Glock "Fo-Tay" weapon of choice of gangsters when they aren't preferring really cheap guns homeowners could actually afford to defend against said gangsters.
*a primitive concept best expressed visually by medieval art purporting to show Biblical scenes with medieval costumes, and in writing by every leftist apology for third world barbarism.
