Put this on layaway after doing a trade and cash. Picked it up today. It's an Uberti replica of the 1875 Remington. I'm trying to find a lanyard ring for it and am thinking of having the gunsmith put a bead sight on it like the originals had. Of course, this is also an original design without the bead sight and ring. Also have to get the varnish remover out and get that shiny crap off the grips.

I call her gun kitty. Better remember to buy more chow.

She's fully conversant, notice her paw isn't on the trigger. She's waiting for instruction before handling it.

Sweet. What caliber? (I've got a cousin who is neck-deep in CAS and he really likes Uberti's. Says they're easier to tune than Rugers.)

.45 Long Colt. I prefer Ubertis because they're the proper weight, unlike Rugers which are actually heavier, and I can work on the Colt clones; haven't tried taking the thing apart yet because it's different than the Colt. I had a Vaquero when I first started reenacting and doing cowboy shooting. This was early 90s. It was a .44 WCF. The chambers were all different sizes, none the same; and the barrel was actually .40. It's a wonder the thing didn't blow up on me. I sent it back to Ruger, they fixed it, I sold it. Wouldn't touch them.

.45 Colt is FUN, especially if you reload.

Good looking toy, too.

IIRC, the internals are the same as the 1858 Remington. Easy to detail-strip once you know how.

Either Persian or Siamese, I'd say...

Lucky you, Rod. Well wear, and happy shooting!
