Personally, I don't feel the need for one... but it's an interesting yet simple piece of engineering.

I wonder how long before the BATFE reverses their decision and makes all owners criminals??

At one of the last gun shows I was at, a vendor was explaining how the stock worked to some individuals at his table. I just cringed and walked by, because it seems like that's going to be a good ticket direct to Federal prison.

If you go to their site they have a letter from the ATF saying that their product is cool. However the ATF may decide to change it's mind next week.

That's cool.

How is this different from the Akins Accelerator that the ATF first said was OK, and then later decided was a machinegun?

It's effectively identical, except they were more anal about getting the ATF to sign off.

Actually, looking into it a bit, I don't think this is accurate...

The "AA" used a spring-loaded stock to enable "bump-firing" - recoil pushed the receiver rearward, and SPRING PRESSURE returned it forward again, pushing the trigger into a stationary finger and firing the next round.

In short, the spring did all the work.

THIS unit doesn't appear to have any springs, and requires replacement of the pistol-grip which includes some sort of "block."

In short, it appears that it changes the mechanism in such a way as to make the pulling forward with the weak-arm act as the "trigger."

Thus, each round is fired by pulling forward with the weak-arm.

In the AA, the spring did the work.
In this case, the ARM does.

While the end result may be the same, I can see how their twisted-logic in other cases backed them into the corner such that they had no choice but to approve this.

I can guarantee there's some ticked off folks at the CAOTU, though...

Looks fun. I shot a full auto Uzi this weekend. That was a blast. But $7000+ for one? Ouch. I can, kinda, afford $400 for a toy, especially if it'll work with my Ceiner AR15 .22lr conversion. All the fun of full auto, but not a lot of cost!

It does look fun. But, it also looks like the kind of thing that would get you in trouble with the wrong ATF agent even if it is 'legal'.

And that is but ONE reason I am hoping gunwalker guts that "agency".

If the gun/platform/part/whatever is deemed legal, then barring NEW laws it should always be legal. It should certainly never be up to agent discretion.

Alas, I do not have the money to fight them, nor do I currently own an AR so it would take me $1500 minimum to take that principled stand. Not gonna happen.
