Man, two from a .40 in the center of mass. I guess he just gave up. Keep shooting until the threat is stopped, I always say.

Hmm, I guess that even if they don't manage to put you on the ground, two .40 shots to the chest is a pretty persuasive argument to cease and desist.

We don't know that the perp didn't stop and decist.
We don't know that his malicious attack didn't stop.
We do know that he made off and hid in a residence.
We do know that 2 rounds of whatever .40 ammo didn't kill the skel.
We do know that this occured in '94 which means that the round was
probably a subsonic 180gr jhp, not the most effective for the caliber.
That's what we do know.

And I still don't like the .40

I dumped six rounds of Win Silver Tip into a dog once and it kept going... I decided that day to buy a .45.....

I still carry a rifle when I am in the woods though, and have rifles and shotguns around the house and in the cars....

It looks like the hits were high, around the collar bone, I also noticed on the video that there were no exit wounds in the suspects back.
My favorite story of his ended with "...and so he went out the back door in his bathrobe, flipped the AK to 'Afrikaner', and started hosing the baboons off his tennis court." - Tam

When my friend was shot in the line of duty a few months back, the bad guy was shot 5 times during the shoot out with the assisting officer. The bad guy took 4 rounds of 40 S&W Gold Dot to the chest. He went down but started to fight when they went to cuff him so another officer tazed him.
Strang things happen in a shootout.

Yeah, I tried to find some over the counter adrenaline at teh local supermarket. The pharmacist just shrugged and said they were running low on account of the recent hurricane.

Hmm. Sounds like a call to start hot-loading .40 S&W at the factory. Unless, of course, someone can start retrofitting a lot of handguns for 10mm.
