Re: The Panic Buying Thread
Got to try out the Glock 43 today. Only 10 yards or so, but I'm pleased, especially since I haven't shot a handgun in a couple of months...

Re: The Panic Buying Thread
Went by the ELGS this weekend, in search of RSC / safe examples, as an upgrade from the gun locker. Not a single safe/RSC in sight. Guess those vendors don't frequent that location... ugh. So we'll have to try again when they come to Dulles Expo in a couple of months. Shucks, I have to go to another ELGS. SWMBO is on board with a revolver purchase, since we're lacking one. Couldn't find any pistol uppers for the AR project (at least not that guys weren't WAY too proud of), so I'll probably order one of those online.

Re: The Panic Buying Thread
Aero Precision had some blemished AR-15 stripped uppers for sale, so I got two of them and kits to complete them. I think that I'm going to grab a LaRue barrel right before the sale runs out, and maybe another MBT trigger.
I picked up 4 Glock Magpul mags with my discount at work. They feel kind of cheap compared to Glock OEM mags. They may be the last ones that I buy.
Other than that, I'm going to swing by WalMart once a week, and grab a box of .45ACP and a box of 9mm. I figure that by the election, I should have a good supply. I find that's the most cost-effective way to buy pistol ammo. For rifle ammo, it appears to be bulk buys. I'll need some more of that as well.
I was looking at a Silencerco Hybrid at work, it's rated up to .338 Lapua, while still being able to fit a pistol piston in it for use on a handgun. But it sold, and I think that I'd rather concentrate on optics, and then either a high-quality NVG or even one of the new weapon/head mountable thermals.

Because of they feel "cheap"? Or actual usage?JAG2955 wrote:I picked up 4 Glock Magpul mags with my discount at work. They feel kind of cheap compared to Glock OEM mags. They may be the last ones that I buy.
I'm interested as I need some more mags for my G17 and was looking at those. The Magpuls for my AR have been OK.

They just feel "cheap". Haven't used them yet. They only have 17rd witness holes as well, instead of the normal back like a Glock OEM mag.randy wrote:Because of they feel "cheap"? All this talk about firearms sure is neat. I really should get one for myself one of these days.

Might want to change your avatar. Seems like you have at least one.

Re: The Panic Buying Thread
Just saw on AR15.com - the Larue barrel sale will be continuing for a while instead of ending July 4th. He did not want to raise the price just when a lot of people stuck in the people's republic of cali might be trying to get parts in.
Also the 4th of July barrel giveaway (one barrel per day) has been extended 'until the cali laws take effect', so if you are on ar15.com, enter a post in this thread with ONLY a number between 1 and 2000. Every day a number is drawn, but where before if more than one person picked the winning number, a second roll would be done to determine which one won, now everyone who picked the chosen number will get a barrel.
Barrels are either PredatAR (medium-light) or Stealth (heavy) in 5.56, various lengths, winner's choice. Not sure if any extras are included (like barrel nut) but no gas block or tube..
These barrels normally cost $400 and up, and are currently on sale for $225 ($245 for M4 ramps).
FYI
