slowpoke wrote:$580 for the CZ85 is pretty good even around here.
Jeff runs an old-fashioned gun shop: Generally fair prices on firearms, and rapes you on accessories and ammo.

I figure if I go back when he is actually there I can get it for $600 out the door.

Ok, I went back to AJI...

I was just about to buy the pistol when I realized it had a 10-round mag. Asked Taylor, the owner's daughter, to get the box. Box had a 2nd 10-round mag and a big orange warning sticker stating that the gun shipped with 10-rounders.

Basically Jeff screwed up and ordered the wrong SKU.

Taylor is actually wearing a CZ on her hip, and she knows how expensive mags are; she asks Jeff if he can give me a discount. He says he doesn't have much room to budge on it. (sunk cost fallacy). Sigh...

So I drive across town to Randall's Firearms. This is Phoenix, so "across town" is about 50 miles and at least an hour and a half dive.

Traffic SUCKS. WTF? It's friday at 1 o'clock? Get to Randalls and they have two of them. Price is $569 ($10 cheaper) and it's the right SKU.

At this point I was so tired I didn't even bother to dicker, just pulled out my DL and CCW and told the kid "get me a 4473".

Lovely. Do we get a range report?

Unlike a CZ-52 a CZ 75 or 85 is a modern handgun and should not be hurt by dry fire.
