A Franchi 48AL in 20 Gauge is my last purchase. And today a friend of mine told me he just acquired a bunch of guns from his mother and is giving me a Lee-Enfield wrapped in cosmoline

Israeli K98 Mauser.

Built by the Nazis in 1939 to fight the Russians and kill the Jews.
Captured by the Russians.
Sold to the Jews.
Used in the Israeli war for independence in 1948.
Rechambered and rebarreled to 7.62 NATO by the Israelis so that they could join NATO.
Found on the intarwebz by Vaarok, who gave the heads up to me this summer, and I went for it.

He knew I was looking for an Israeli issued Mauser, and he kept his eyes peeled. He found it for me. He hooked me up with the seller.

I got the rifle in good condition, awesome bore, with sling, sight hood, and bayonet for $250 delivered.

Needless to say, I owe Vaarok big time. he did me quite a favor.

Oh. Where is he? I dunno. I speak with him on Facebook fairly regularly and I see him on THR. I'll tell him to get his dairy farming, cow loving, Damian Lewis looking, military rifle collecting butt over here.
