Pretty much.

If anyone wants to we can meet up at one of the gas stations that are on the main roads and convoy out there. The intersections are 288 and highway 6 or CR 1128 and 6.

Popping Smoke:

I'll be tying lengths of red, white & blue ribbon to utility poles, street signs and driven-stakes, indicating the way to the shoot. There will be no directional arrows. Rather, look for the ribbon 20' or 30' beyond any intersection...... you see the ribbons, that's your direction of travel.

Markings will begin at the intersection of State Highway 6 (S.H. 6), and Farm to Market Road 1128 (FM 1128). I'll try to have 'em up the Wednesday before the festivities.

Alvin has a couple OK hotels, but not much in the way of good eataries. Manvel has ONE decent hotel, and fewer eataries than Alvin. Pearland is 10 more minutes away, but has plenty of both, with tons of places to eat, from low end to upper end chain restaruants, and tons of good indpendents, too.

Galveston is 40 min from the shoot, for those who might want some sand with their shooting.

There will be high-grade BBQ on site for Sunday. Not sure about Saturday.

EVERYBODY should bring a pair of work gloves. Please bring yours!

More updates as needed.................

I want to take a moment to thank Jim and Wiz for all the hard work they have put in thus far and arranging to get the land cleared (and clearing it) berm building, BBQ arrangements, and land use. It's really thanks to them that we are going to have the best Fiesta ever.

For attendees I would like to ask for a $20 donation to cover the costs already incurred and any future ones. If we have any excess cash (never been a problem so far) it will go to buying meat or targets or similar.

Bring something to blow up. It's cool.

Also, I will donate a couple of cases of beer but the IRON RULE is no booze will be served until all shooting is done for the day. Let's be safe people.

We also will have a cold range. If your ccw is in your pocket no prob but keep it there.

Slight change in plans. After checking out hotels on Orbitz, I rethought the whole 'Occupy Shooting Fiesta' idea, and booked a room at the Super 8 in Alvin. I still plan on going down on Friday, and going home on Monday. Is anyone else staying there?

I've got reservations at the Rodeway Inn. Right now, I'm in a single king smoking room but imagine I could get it switched if someone wanted to stay with me. Your share would be 30 a night. Arriving Thursday, leaving Monday.

Given the changes in plans for the range I am assuming that I do NOT need to bring tools (other than hand tools and gloves).
If so, I'll leave the trailer behind and camp onsite, out of the Jeep.

I can spend some of the newly freed up gas money on sidewalk chalk that we can shoot at. :D

Feel like an idiot. Was at the gun show today and a guy's selling some steel targets. He's got some that are in the 4 - 6 inch range, with small base for 10 bucks. I'm going back tomorrow and picking a couple up. Also going to see what else he has that isn't outragously priced.
