If Fireclean was smart, they'd simply say it's a plant-based proprietary lube that's non-toxic. Bonus points for the owner licking it off a bcg. Hit safety nazis right in their feels.

Then shut the hell up and drop the lawsuit. But it looks like they're just idiots.

Am I right in thinking that, if the lawsuit proceeds then discovery could be *fun*?

Okay, one more time. ATF, Mobile 1, and white lithium grease. You can get it all down at the auto store.
I'm all about innovation, so I think that it's great. But I'm not willing to pay the price for snake, or in this case, vegetable oil.

My preferred lube is Rem Oil with Teflon. Things that need grease get surplus automatenfett, mostly because I have some of it handy.

Although I've told the wife that she should float the idea of having the Really Big Company that she works for package some of their preexisting products for firearms cleaning, lubrication, and protection. She is part of a selected volunteer team that is supposed to brainstorm solutions to certain problems, like what to do if the price of dinosaur goo goes down.

I will admit I hadn't paid much attention to this prior to reading of the lawsuit, but the idea that anybody would believe that an excess of smoke signifies anything but either too much lube, or lubricant failure, is kind of funny. That they were able to turn it into a selling point kind of makes Aesop's point.

For gun owners like us, who take ownership and use of firearms seriously, I think we all are looking for that magic fluid that will help our guns last as long as possible. These guys take advantage of that sentiment. And got all butt hurt once caught.

And to threadjack, I've seen specialized tool companies like Midway, Brownes, and Stewart MacDonald (for working on musical instruments) mark up common tools just to make a few extra bucks. So this bull$1t isn't exclusive to lubricants or guns.

ETA who the hell Stewart MacDonald is.
Buy ammunition and magazines.

You'll shoot your eye out!

To paraphrase my high school auto shop teacher, sadly, there is no magic spray.

And oh for those who don't know, at is a great penitrating "creeping" oil similar to Kroil. The downside is it stains, and is toxic.

Another option is turbine oil.

Interesting. I've only ever used it in turbines. I have quite a bit of 2190 laying around at work.
