Well done, First.
And, I think Yogi made a good call. It was a considerate thing to point out.

Re: the name in the file name - I wonder how many Ashley's there are? She'd probably be pretty hard to single out amongst the crowd.

But I agree that it was courteous to point it out. What threw everyone was that it was out of character. ;)
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

You're right, and I apologize. In my defense, I have a hard time putting "Yogi" and "courteous" in the same thought.

Most useful information I can think of for her (Or anyone going to boot camp) is that a lot of what may seem like mind games or dominance BS will often turn out to be them conditioning in useful information so it's acted on reflexively during stress. For example: The DIs will call the polished brass thresholds in every [strike]doorway[/strike] hatchway "Cadillacs", and woe betide the grungy, unworthy, lower-than-whale-shit recruit who puts their nasty feet on a DI's Cadillac. Seems like BS, right? However, in urban combat, thresholds are a popular place to put mines and other nasty surprises. You can tell that bit of info to a recruit thousands of times. You can show them how to set up those sorts of traps themselves. It still won't really sink in until they or their buddy suddenly has a leg that ends at the knee. Easier, quicker, and more effective to just condition them to reflexively to step clear of the damn things.

No, you're just trying to humor the really strange ones.

Fascinating. Another bit of nautical know-how:

Cheers!!!!

My "adopted minion" called home yesterday. She was allowed to call home because she qualified Expert with the M-16, missing beating her PMI by four points (224-227), as well as turning in a perfect score on the 300 yard full-auto portion.

Am I proud of her? Not so's you'd notice, no. (Gotta find a bigger hat!).

Now she can show me how it's done!

Hope to God she didn't tell her DI that someone from the Air Force taught her to shoot...
