SA's are fine. Imbel of Brasil builds their frames. I think the rest of the parts are made here. Remember, no hollow points before you fire at least 300 rounds of FMJ round nose through it. 230 gr Win. white box or UMC for break in. The WWB is better for target practice.

I bought a GI Champion for really cheap a few years back. It had issues. I called Springfield for an RMA and the guy asked if I'd fired 300 rounds of FMJ throuh it yet. I told him, "No, but I'm not single loading this thing 250 more times." I also told him that I used several magazines and had the same problem (Wilson Combat and MecGar mags). He very quickly gave me an RMA w/o further discussion.

The only way I could tell that the gun I got back a week later was the same one was the serial number. The trigger had been gritty, now it's glass smooth. The thing feeds like a dream. It hits to point of aim. It feels like a custom shop gun and it didn't cost me a penny for the clean up. Their customer service used to be some of the best in the industry. I hope that's still true. They made me very happy with my purchase.

I've had a Loaded Stainless 9mm 1911-A1 for years. Not one hiccup after I polished the ramp to feed JHP's (ramped barrels are sweet). Never had a single FTF with FMJ. It's a better gun than I am a shooter. It's the most accurate pistol I own.
My ideas are mine. You go out and get your own!
