Wanna talk about "combat lossed"? A virtually new looking AN/PVS-7 hit craigslist in N Idaho recently for under $2k. It had the bag, mounting goodies, docs, and all the other fiddly bits that come with it. The seller specifically mentioned some rare co witness option that I don't know anything about. I actually sent an email with the listing (since deleted) to a co-worker with the title "Bait or seller is insanely stupid?"
I'd love to have one, but I'll take not having CID or NIS knocking on my door instead.
Even by Bubba standards, this is bad.

Re: Even by Bubba standards, this is bad.
One year at Hamvention in Dayton one of the sellers of surplus military radio gear* all of a sudden had a lot of customers with navy blue windbreakers with various sets of initials on the back. Seems serial numbers of some of the gear were very (as in 100%) similar to equipment that had disappeared from a west coast depot some months earlier.
I understand the sellers were especially thrilled to find out that selling current crypto enabled equipment, even without the keys, added a whole new level to the charges of possessing/selling stolen property.
*(There is a subset of ham radio that collects, restores, and operates old military radio gear on the ham bands. 99.9% legit surplus. (As with firearms, there's always someone that has to push it too far). Personally, having spent 8 hours too many lugging a PRC-77 around (I really respect the stamina of RTOs after that experience), and hours upon hours of listening to crappy audio from mil-spec speakers/headphones, I can't see the appeal, but whatever...)

...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Try visiting Craigslist for Camp Lejeune. NCIS could dedicate entire offices to the things on there.
You can get PVS-14 equivalents for about $3K from reputable sources. I'd love to be able to afford a pair someday.

found in 2 searches I see what you mean. Night vision was nothing special, but "vest" turned that up, along with some lesser offerings. I imagine if you got down into the weeds, you could find some interesting stuff.JAG2955 wrote:Ew, -7's? Keep them.Steamforger wrote:Wanna talk about "combat lossed"? You should have seen the pawn shops. I bought enough Vickers slings to outfit most of my rifles for $10/per.
