Auto Ordnance M1 carbine. Likes to rust, mostly incompatible with USGI mags.

The Buckmark purchase that was planned but never happened with my last purchase permit from the last bunch I ever applied for. Something came up, then it expired. Now to buy a handgun I just need a driver's license. Win.

I've been pretty happy with evrrything I own, though I did have to send the 617 back once for warranty work.

Taurus PT-22. It is rough, sharp edges, the action feels gritty even after careful cleaning, trigger pull is harsh, and using the one magazine it came with it would not feed reliably with several different types of ammunition. I later got a second magazine and it was much better with that one.

However I only paid $5 for it (actually $20 for four raffle tickets at an ISRA IGold event) so I don't feel too bad. Its probably the first gun I'd sell/trade, and the only one I might do without _needing_ to. Just don't care for it much.

A tie between a Raven in .22LR (I was a noob) and a Marlin 60 that had been roughly used by the previous owner (I was a noob). Fortunately, I was able to sell both for my purchase price.

Have you thought about selling it to one of the companies that customize them for 3 gun folks?
IIRC, he bought Chris' Saiga that's already been modified some. Out of curiosity, did it come with the tapco folding POS stock that he had on it still installed, or something heavier duty? Maybe made of say, welded steel tubing?

My most disappointing gun purchase was the Browning BLR in .30-06 I didn't buy. I let my dad talk me out of it, and into buying something else (non gun related) instead that I didn't need, that turned into a big disappointment in itself. He was able to do this, by offering me his 7mm Weatherby Mag, which is a nice rifle, but not at all what I needed.

Two contenders for this: the Baikal Model 18M 20-gauge that I bought NIB. The little shotgun was fine, in its chunky Russian way, but in my youthful naive enthusiasm, I let the gunshop rip me off for twice the MRSP! I never darkened their door again, and I have made a point of warning off other potentially misguided customers.

Years ago, I bought a used Turkish-made no-name O/U 12-gauge, because I needed to pass an exam including some clayshooting. That was a rattly POS, but it was cheap, instantly available, and sufficient to the limited purpose. It was offloaded as soon as I got my nice Browning B25/Superposed.

Remington Model 1100 Special Field. I wanted one for a couple of years, during my po-folks period. Squirreled away money, saved my pennies, and finally purchased it. Flawless finish, beautiful shotgun, looked good in the gun case.

Couldn't hit crap with it. It didn't fit me at all. I didn't want to screw with that beautiful wood, didn't want to WECSCOG it at all. The gun was just too pretty, but it didn't shoot where I was looking, so it went away. I still bemoan that purchase.

AMT Automag II, .22 wmr semi auto pistol. Jam-o-matic POS. Took it to a smith, he worked it over, it ran a little better but was very inaccurate. Sold it.

I bought it because Denis, IIRC, had brought the BRNO ZKM 611 to my attention. I was unable to find one at a price I was willing to pay, so I bought the Automag II. Then I finally found the BRNO at the right price. Hey, I wanted a .22 wmr semi. :P The BRNO rocks, btw.

Doesn't it just? Mine shoots like a laser. I keep trying to find another at a reasonable price, but they are just going up and up. I really like the little .22 Magnum Brno's .22lr brothers too; the Model 511 and 581.

An M-4gery that was was [strike]assembled[/strike] frankenstined by a Senior Chief I met through the Rod and Gun club when I was in Hawaii. Great price, but the rear sight set full left was not enough to bring it into the center of a target, when I looked very closely the front sight tower was not vertical and in line with the carry handle on the upper.

When it started doubling and tripling at the range I sold it back to him.

Eventually used that money to buy my Glock 21.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
