I'm a huge fan of my Savage Mk II. Pegging clay birds out to 150yds is so easy it's almost boring.

I like my Heritage cowboy revolver in .22LR. $160 new just a couple of years ago.

Depending on how accurate you want it, if you gone a 22 conversion for a 1911, look at some of the other systems. My Kimber kit works, but is very inaccurate relative to the kits which require fitting to tell gun.

Maybe I just got lucky, but mine will hang with any of the Ruger Mk II/IIIs or Buckmarks around here, if I do my part.

Went to the local merchant o death with the wife and youngest boy yesterday afternoon. He liked the grip/feel of the Beretta Neos the best, and had no problem with the 6 inch barrels heft.
They had a synthetic-stocked 10/22 in inventory as well.

Both of those ended up coming home with us.

Pics to follow.

Dead simple. Its a really nice contrast to the MkII I used to own.

I like my little Italian space-gun.

Range trip with the kids after work tomorrow.

Lock the action open.
Hold a button to unlock the barrel nut knob forward of the trigger guard and twist the nut to unscrew the barrel.
Grip the slide, release the slide lock, and remove.
That's it.

Rifle: Take a good hard look at the new Ruger American bolt action. It uses 10/22 magazines, and you can change the stock insert to change the length of pull.

Pistol: Probably recommend a Buckmark if you don't like the Ruger Mk series.

I *really* want a 10/22, new or used I don't care, and will likely wind up with a small pile of mags for it. Rotary 10 rpundets and the 25 rd Ruger mags both. (That reminds me, any opinions on the Ruger BX-25 mags?)

A decent quality bolt gun that isn't too expensive and can use those same mags would be a good thing.

I'll have one after next range trip, I've got a couple of them on the way from Brownells.
