a 30 caliber semi auto? I think I'd rather have an AR-10.

Now if somebody could come up with a semi auto .338 Lapua that doesn't cost 6 grand or more..

You saved $4.01!

F&D Defense can save you more like $400.

Still, if you can afford to feed a semi-auto .338...

Isn't the AR-10 in .30 short and weak? The BAR is .30-06 ;)

Honestly? The FPS difference between the two is small enough that a coupla inches of barrel would even them out.

Personally, I think a 1918 chambered in something more enegetic would be more interesting - I have in my "Build when I hit the lottery" notebook, an idea I came up with for shits and giggles - a Browning BAR(sporting gun), rechambered to .458 Winchester, with an 18" barrel.

Would that fit in the modern BAR action? IIRC, 9.3x60mm is the biggest chambering available from the factory. A .458 would be +/- 11mm.

It should. One of the caliber options from the factory is .338 Win Mag. :ugeek:

Come to think of it, a semi Auto .338 shooting 250 Matchkings would be kinda fun in and unto itself.. :D
