I'm gonna write this one off as an aberration, since I've been dealing with them for a long time, and this is the first one that was not a drop-in fit, and I could fix it myself.
Next time will be the last time.

An operator error is understandable; not catching it in QC sucks. But blaming the customer for noticing it is unforgivable.HTRN wrote:They blew it, it happens. I think a pretty good repair job was done, considering the effort & cost vs. reward ratio.

Yes, good job on the fix. Customer service indicates the difference between amateurs and true professionals.Termite wrote:I think a pretty good repair job was done, considering the effort & cost vs. reward ratio.
One secret to life. Step #1 - Find something you enjoy doing. Step #2 - Find someone foolish enough to pay you to do it.

In all fairness, the rest of the inletting is near-as-dammit perfect. The mag well needed a little attention, but you have to expect something of that sort (and they tell you that some additional inletting may be needed.). The tang sits down in the stock just like it's supposed to, the notch for the bolt handle is very clean and very even, and the barrel is free-floated from the recoil lug forward. The sling studs are positioned correctly, and very nicely centered on the stock and forearm, just like they should be. And two out of the three screw holes were located correctly.

The spin is making me dizzy!
I vote for "competent repair" as opposed to WECSOG or bubba.
