That's what made me think of not getting one and just taking my chances.

Sounds like Kentucky is somewhere between Alabama and Missouri, as far as jumping through hoops. Cost is $60. Same for renewal.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Soup, you need to send your OP verbatim to the NRA-ILA and Alan Gura. They are no doubt fuelling up for more litigation (after Heller, McDonald and Ezell) against Chicago's implementation regime, and your experience is grist to the mill...

This is a good idea.

I had some really frustrating experiences with licenses last year, and I documented everything carefully. Then I called the national organization to let them know what was happening, and they were more than happy to get well documented stories. They usually work through direct contact with politicians rather than lawsuits, so it's great for them to have a big stack of stories to show the politicians on the national level how the system is actually implemented locally.
And yes, there's been some legislative changes here last year because of mine and other peoples stories.

If you get fired for documenting the truth about the process, wouldn't you have a pretty solid case for work place discrimination (unlawful firing) which would pay out several years worth of salary?
