The devil is in the details. "USA made" in the sense of section 922r, which governs the importation of AK type weapons, is a far different thing from them being actually manufactured in the USA. And a US made AK is probably going to be inferior in quality to a Russian made unit. The Russian made rifles use hammer forged, chrome lined barrels, which don't seem to be available in the US, in a .310" groove barrel. The Russian trunnions, bolts, carriers, etc, are also better than those manufactured in other nations, which would undoubtedly be used in any "US made" AK variant. Polish and Hungarian are pretty good, though.

Makes some sense, given that the typical US made AK barrel is non chrome lined trash made from a cheap blank. But they are probably using a nitro-carburizing process, rather than carbo-nitriding. They are very different processes, and the latter doesn't do anything to enhance corrosion resistance. Nitro-carburizing does, and is the same type of process used by Glock on their pistols. There is a lot of confusion regarding the terminology of these processes in the gun industry, and even a lot of outfits that use them can't get it right.

Well for the moment it looks like this is just another US outfit making AK's then, of which there are several. Hopefully they can deliver a good product at a reasonable cost and not cheap out. We will see.
