I heard from the range owner overnight--he terminated the guy's membership for "flagrant safety violations". I think that means "he's shit out of luck, and doesn't get his money back". I would have to guess, from the guy's behavior, that it was his first visit to the range. Also his last.

A central criteria for my next homestead is a minimum of 300' of open terrain where I can bury a straight run of concrete box culvert.
After that point, I won't be visiting the shallow end of the gene pool represented regularly at the local gun ranges ever again.
