We'll need something like a steel fire ring, or rocks, and something like a grate for those who want to heat something up over flame if desired.
there are plenty of trees out there plus there is some wood left from some buildings that were out there, the wood can be burned or used as target stands, whichever it would be best used for. I'm working on getting a burn barrel for trash and just general fire havin' and I have access to a medium size smoker pit and a small charcoal grill for food prep.

We can use my truck as long as someone promises to pull it out [strike]when[/strike] if it gets stuck.
JimTX wrote: FOOD. The Wizard says that we *might* have the loan of a portable BBQ rig. It'll need wood. It'll need recently murdered herbivores (four legged variety) upon the grate. If that one's not available, then does anyone else have a good sized grill they can haul-in? A Big Char-Broil oughta be enough; I'm thinking a giant tournament unit would be overkill.
I have two friends that have promised to loan me their pits, one is a medium "smoker" style pit and the other is the small charcoal briquette grill. I can pick up a bag of charcoal and a little bit of wood but anyone else that can bring more is more than encouraged to do so.

If I'm able to bring the trailer, I'll hump along a suzuki 110 dirt bike.
I have a white gas camp stove and kettle for making coffee and such.
I won't be able to bring a generator, but I'll charge up the batteries for my cordless tools. I can't imagine we'll need all that much in the way of cutting. so that'll give us a screwgun, sawzall, circular saw and 4 batteries. If I remember the inverter I can charge them up again, perhaps.
I also have a couple of spotting scopes that are of decent quality (Barska)

Also I should be able to bring cardboard for targets, I'd recommend that everyone bring some, if they can.

Water will be a priority for extinguishing fires, and for hydration/ hygiene/ cooking.

For first aid kits, I'll grab my med bag, but I have a very small supply of clotting agent. LA police Gear has small trauma kits that include it. I have one or two of those kits, and a bag full of bandages and the like. I need to get some tampons for potential bullet wounds. Doc Russia may have something to say about that.

For those lurking on the thread, Make sure to leave any and all quantities of douchebaggery at home. I still remember catching lead at the shoot in Dallas and someone coming a fraction of an inch of losing an eye due to shooting metal pistol targets with a 30-06.

Looking at the reservation sites, Manvel has one decent hotel (though most Best Westerns barely make decent). Pearland looks like the better deal. On another note, ABC News was just reporting that Pearland gas prices are around 3.45 a gallon. I may have to switch out of the suv and use the Hyundai Sonata. It should be able to carry all the supplies.

Edit: If someone wants to split the cost of a room, you're welcome to bunk with me. I'm looking at around 75 to 85 a night for the room.

Good news, y'all. I think I may have a line on a decent portable generator. That'll power the mitre saw, air compressor and chargers.

As far as the first aid, it'll be a good thing if Doc Russia is there. My skill extends to putting an ACME tourniquet around the neck until the bleeding stops. works every time

Let me second the anti-douchebaggery comment, too. From what I understand, the land here is long, which is great for distance shooting, but not terrible wide, which means that "downrange" means DOWN THE DAMN RANGE and nowhere else.

That said, I do hope someone brings some very large bore kaboomery to send downrange! :)

If y'all are interested in those Tac Man targets, it might be a good opportunity to do a group buy on them - shipping on one stinks, but you can get a bunch more for the same rate.

I may be flying in for it, or I may not - I suspect I will be busy, but I could get lucky.

*coughs* And my prosthetic leg.... didn't even think about that being an issue till now! It only holds a charge for about 36-48 hours under heavy use.

Never fear however, I will find a logistical solution!

One of those old nuclear pacemakers? I think that would do in a pinch if you fiddle with it a bit.

CONFIRMIED: Large generator, I think a 12 kw. I'll pick it up the Wednesday before. It is both 110vac, and 220vac.

So, be careful, Legman. If you plug into the 220 side, we may never catch up with you!

I almost had to have a combination defibrillator/pacemaker put in a couple years ago. I was gonna make 'em add a ring of white LEDs to it and put it right in the middle of my keelbone!
