The only jamming problems I ever had with an M16 were caused by a FUBAR'd magazine. I think the M16A1 is just fine(not the A2, I don't like only having 3 shot burst), just wrong caliber. Make mine in 6.5 Grendel, and I'll be perfectly happy :D .

Like this? From Model 1 Sales?

ar15performance is coming out with an affordable, "light recce" weight, chrome-lined 6.8spc. It will have optimized chamber and twist, and he is checking each barrel...so no Kotonics-type issues. He has also been working on a piston system, so there's that to look forward to as well.

You do realize that before LeMay bought the M16 for the USAF that we were guarding our flightlines with M1 and M2 carbines, right? .223 beats .30 carbine for guarding aircraft any day of the week.

Huh. I looked through Armalite/ formerly Eagle Arms' tech notes on cleaning chromed and unchromed bores. "Spotless" is apparently akin removing not just dirty oil, copper, powder and such, but also removing any oil that the bore has absorbed for protection and possibly damaging the barrel as a result. How much of this is solid info?
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."
