No I don't expect a dime, but just am wishing I could find an extra $195, or better yet an extra $390.00. You see, the CMP is again offering the Mossberg M44 for sale. It is a great, as in absolutely excellent, rifle in .22 caliber. I purchased one from the CMP a few years ago, it is a tack driver, though as with a hammer I sometimes hit my thumb! (No I did not shoot myself in the thumb, I just miss hitting the targets squarely sometimes but through not fault of the rifle.)
They are again available, this time for $175 plus about $20 for shipping. You need to follow some rules to order one, and that means you have to become a member of a state level rifle club or association that is affiliated with the CMP, but it is well worth it. You will also need to buy a magazine (rifle does not come with any) and maybe a new trigger guard (metal and plastic ones available commercially) as some of the old trigger guards have cracked; but again well worth it. I have seen these rifles sell for well over $400 apiece.
Absolutely great shooters from my own experience, and from reports I have read from others. A rifle made to last a lifetime or maybe three.
All the best,
Glenn B

CMP Rifle Sales - Someone Please Send Me $195
When I look in the mirror, I am happy to see, some of that nine year old boy, who used to be me.

I already have two .22 target rifles from the CMP (H&R M12 and a Win 52D). Mustn't get another. No no no no. No more. I don't need one. Really...

I grabbed a M44 from a gun store a few years ago, and just love it. It did need a trigger job- not a lot of money, really, and the gun shop offered to buy it off me, as did every one who has ever shot it.
