California evil loophole black gun and reading comprehension.
Since Governor Moonbeam has outlawed the bullet button, has anyone used the FRS stock that attaches instead of the normal pistol grip? It's as ugly as sin (or Henry Waxman or Nancy Pelosi, which amounts to the same thing), but is the curvature an issue? Sights?
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Only two ways to know for sure, ask the DOJ, or become a test case. Given that the DOJ can change their mind about things, well, have to be careful.

The new California legislation defines an "assault rifle" as any self-loading rifle that takes a detachable magazine.
By that definition, the only self-loading rifle that is legal in California is the M1 Garand.
Even a Browning auto-loading hunting rifle has a detachable magazine.
IANAL, however, a reading of the legislation shows that there is the possibility that there will be a registration and "grandfathering" period, where those people who bought and registered their "off-list" AR receivers with bullet-buttons will be able to register them as "assault rifles".
The registration periods for the 1989 and 1999 AWB legislation was only about a year, so anyone coming to California after 1990 or 2000 had to leave their "assault weapons" behind. Now, there is the possibility that those weapons can be registered as "assault weapons" with appropriate "get out of jail free" paperwork from the California DOJ.
Ironically, if that is the case, then all those "assault weapon" owners can happily throw away their "bullet buttons" and go back to regular magazine releases.

Hmm, sounds like the start of a business case for going into production with a fixed magazine version of the G43.D5CAV wrote:The new California legislation defines an "assault rifle" as any self-loading rifle that takes a detachable magazine.
