Finally got to work on it today. Scrubbed it down w. a scouring pad to get the tough bits off. Then I slathered some jewelers paste on it and hit it w. the Dremel cloth wheel. This is about as good as it's going to get. Here is the worst part of the carrier:

It looks a bit worse in the picture than it does in person. I dry fired it a bunch of times and it slides nicely. I'll test it a bit and keep it as a backup.... lubed up and in a bag this time! : :oops:

ETA: I replaced the extractor spring w. a Bravo Co. unit.

That turned out fine. Nice to have a serviceable spare...
