Well, based on your pics and happiness of the purchase, I've got the receiver, slide, and barrel/bushing set on the way.
I've never put together a 1911 from the ground up. I predict lots of slow filing and lapping of parts bought slowly over a couple of months. I've been jonesing for a big, slab-sided doublestack 1911 or 2011 for a while now. An STI Perfect 10, if you will, though I have doubts about adding a 10mm to the stable. I can't shell out $3k for one though and I do like adding new skills. This seems like a natural first step. If it turns out well enough, I may gift it to my father. He's wanted a 1911 for as long as I can remember.
It sounds like everything is going together ok on your end. Any issues as of yet? Anything I should be on the lookout for?

I recommend an EGW extractor and oversize firing pin stop. A small radius on the leading edge of the firing pin stop helps smooth the action. You don't want to go cheap on the extractor or firing pin stop. A snug fit firing pin stop helps prevent the extractor from "Clocking," that is rotating in the extractor channel..
