Moving Back To NC... CCW Stupidity...

Well, I may be moving back to NC in the next week, to Mecklenburg county.... And the pure dipshittery of the CCW system is hitting me in the head...

My NC permit expired 3 years ago once I moved to SC... Getting a SC permit was a matter of showing them my NRA instructor's certification and my ID... I hold a valid SC permit, a current C&R FFL and a NRA instructor's certification... And yet it appears that I still have to take the stupid NC CCW class... Again!

Oh and not only that, I get to pay $20 to Presbyterian hospital to do a medical records check even though I have never in my life been in the Presbyterian hospital system.

Oh and bonus points, the sheriff's department wants me to list EVERY previous address I have lived at... Which off the top of my head is more than a dozen different places, at least half of which I do not know the addresses to any longer.

Oh and extra special bonus points, while looking through the law... It does not appear that even NC CCW instructors (I never got certified to teach it because of having to travel out to the middle of nowhere for a 5 hour class) are exempt from the requirements to have a certificate of completion of the CCW course...

The real bitch about the whole thing... I can pretty much guarantee that I know as much if not far more about the NC CCW course contents than any instructor I would possibly take the course from...

Even better, OC is expressly allowed by state law and multiple court precedents.
