Re: Shotgun Doctrine Today
Having the ability to rack the shotgun when someone's OUTSIDE your house and messing with your property, and not threatening anyone in your family is definitely a bonus. I have used it in the past to GREAT effect - and not had to shoot it.

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Re: Shotgun Doctrine Today
I know of one case where someone surrendered because he thought he heard a pumpgun being racked.
Early 80's at Blytheville AFB, SP LT responding to an alarm, waiting for rest of response to arrive. Saw movement, but not really sure what he had, so he extended and retracted the stock of his GAU-5 (M-16 Carbine, ancestor to the M-4).
Skulker came out with hands up because "I heard that SOB chamber a round and figured he was crazy enough to shoot me!"
Personally I think "crazy", or even "suicidal" would better describe the perp. Poking around at night on a SAC base is not high on my list of "safe" activities. Fortunately for him he was in the Base Exchange area, not the Alert Area or WSA (Weapons Storage Area).

...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

I was right, as much as I'd LOVE to buy it from you drice, I can't afford (right now) to get my wife the Ruger .22 she wants.308Mike wrote:I'm afraid to ask how much, 'cause I probably can't afford it right now anyway.

I am looking at the Benelli M4 and the Rem 11-87. In fact going shopping tomorrow. Regards Wayne Floyd308Mike wrote:Don't blame you, but racking an autoloader at night doesn't quite have the same effect on people as hearing a pump. There are some VERY GOOD autos out there. I've been eying either a Benelli or Winchester.WayneFloyd wrote:After pumping my shotgun all day I'm buying an auto loader
Winchester is listing the XS3 as the Fastest Shotgun in the World - 12 rounds in 1.442 seconds.
