329NG and Double Tap 44 special review

Well, I was supposed to get a 329PD, but the 'smith misheard... possibly thought the 329PD was better for my purposes (part of the problem w. having a good friend as your 'pusher is he occasionally edits my impulse orders...)

Very happy w. the gun -- seems better built than my recent S&Ws. Absolute pussy cat w. the 44 specials, and I like the sights that are on it.

A) I wish it had a K-frame grip on it, so I could put compact crimson trace grips on it -- I bought some CTs for it, but they're too big, but they'll work on my bigger gun as a bedside gun.

B) The hammer is huge, bizarrely long.

I've already ordered the C&S firing pin for it, and will be removing the lock shortly. I wish I could find hammer shrouds for it, as it would make a good pocket gun for some of my pants, if I fitted a shorter grip.

After I had my bad experience with their 10mm ammo, I did some searching and read that they may have cheaped out by switching powders in some of their loads.

I figured, I wanted to ask how it was holding up.

That and I saw too late the date on the thread. So much for catching up!

It's been fine - I haven't carried it, or any other stainless gun, back to the plant, since the odd fall/refinish, etc problem.
