You know, sometimes larger rounds aren't as effective on snakes/vermin as a 22 mag loaded w ratshot...
It actually may work quite well for that. Could be just the thing for dispatching nutria and raccoons, and maybe as the initial round in a sidearm in a snakey area...
Now, as to why...
Hmm. Really not a bad idea if they make a 45 version to keep it as the initial round if I'm on the lease in S. TX - but I would like to have the rest loaded w 460 Rowland for pigs...

I think I'll leave the RIP round to the easily impressed, and continue to carry either Hornady Custom hollowpoints, or whatever the local and state police use.

Re: New R.I.P. round
This. Will check again with local LEO wherever we end up next and have the carry gun loaded with that. Hydra-shok seems to be the round of choice the last couple places I've been stationed. Here if figure I'm screwed 10 ways from Sunday if I have to use a firearm to defend the house, so whatever I could get last is what's loaded now. I think they're Hydra-shoks, but don't know and don't care.Frankingun wrote:I think I'll leave the RIP round to the easily impressed, and continue to carry either Hornady Custom hollowpoints, or whatever the local and state police use.
