While we're discussing powder measuring, has anyone tried volume measuring like the Lee Dippers? Do they produce consistent loads? Or is it just hype?

You mean those little yellow spoon-things? I give those to my daughter to include in her art projects. ;-)

Actually, I have great memories of the Lee dippers. Yes, they can be very very accurate if you get a consistent form & rhythm. Come to think of it, I really should have some on the bench.

Actually, they're pretty consistent, but it's hard to tweak charges up or down (obviously). It's what I started with, back in the Dark Ages. Handy little gadgets for someone who's primary source of income was mowing a few yards in the neighborhood.

Huh? What? Don't you just fill the tube on the end of your powder horn and dump it down the barrel?
You think that's bad? I'd be willing to pay that much just for a scale. Mount a precision powder measure over the scale, with a trickler to drop the last few flakes of powder.. Of course, you'd have to have OCD, or shoot benchrest(course, the latter, often has the former  ) to be that obssesive.

And oh, 6mmBR did a head to head comparison of the three major dispensers

Another advocate for the Chargemaster. It can be a little slow with bulky, flake powders, but ball and stick meter very well, and the unit is typically spot on.

I don't "need" the autometer capability but it sure would make working up incremental test loads a breeze.
