Around the Water Cooler: The Fallout from Ft. Hood Continues

... and it continues without due consideration for the dead and wounded. First, we have a conversation conducted Tuesday at a local post office. It went like this:

"The flag. It's at half staff!"

"Yes, it is."

"But why?"

"What do you mean, why? Don't you know?"

"No! Has something happened?"

"Yes, 13 KIA and another 30 or so wounded!"

"KIA?"

Ah, never mind. In addition, that gifted, glib, suave, intellectual-about-town, Hizzoner Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago was seen on video commenting on three more Chicago schools getting Arab language classes via a grant. When asked about the Ft. Hood Massacre, his learned personage had this to say:

"Unfortunately, American loves guns. We love guns to a point where that uh we see devastation on a daily basis. You don't blame a group."

Hizzoner misspoke, as he corrected his comments later to say that we can blame a group, if that group's the NRA.

Okay, he really didn't correct his comments. Just kidding.

Drinking, as he is, from the currently politically correct kool-aid, he had to hang the massacre on anything other than an islamofascist scumbag - who may have "snapped" due to Pre Traumatic Stress Disorder (he had no experience from which to be Post Traumatic). Of course, he had no comment - as he wasn't asked - his position on his city's place near the top of violent crime statistics and the issue of corruption in the City on the Lake. Chicago is a gun-hater's paradise. You can have a gun if you are on the police department or if you have affiliation with a continuing criminal enterprise. It's unknown if state or federal law enforcement is allowed to be armed in Chicago.

Okay, just kidding again. An agent of the US Secret Service had her purse stolen during the Clinton Administration years. Her gun and ID were in the purse. You didn't see that news story because (1) the theft wasn't reported until Chicago PD arrested someone that had the gun (recovering it) and (2) only Chicago newspapers ran with the story. Fortunately, a Chicago copper showed me his newspaper.

While we're on the subject, I've heard no one say nor seen where anyone has written calling for a jihad of our own against peaceful Muslim populations in the United States or anywhere else. Apparently we don't operate that way, Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano's comments to the contrary notwithstanding.

So there. Now that we're not worried about all those bad Christians attacking peaceful Muslims, we can get on to honestly and fully investigate our MD Psychiatrist Wackjob. I have to wonder if they'll have a new clinical diagnosis in the next DSM to cover the Doctor and his Ft. Hood massacre.

Meanwhile, our soldiers carry on. They care for their wounded and render aid and assistance to the families of those lost. In the political world "Through the Looking Glass," where clowns jockey for power and control over a free people, our soldiers look away. They take care of business. Along with brothers and sisters in the Marine Corps, the Navy, the Air Force and various emergency services, they put aside that which is different and shoulder their common responsibility for the common good.

God bless them all.
There is a certain type of mentality that thinks if you make certain inanimate objects illegal their criminal misuse will disappear!

Damn the TSA and Down with the BATF(u)E!
