2 robbers dead, 2 injured after 72-yr-old opens fire in NYC

NEW YORK - The sidewalk outside the Harlem store still was smeared with blood Friday, and the glass on the door still was blown out.

Above the entrance, someone had scribbled the words, "Abandon hope all ye who enter here."

Less than 24 hours after a deadly showdown at the shop worthy of a Clint Eastwood script, Charles "Gus" Augusto Jr. entered his store — oblivious of the inscription taken from Dante's "Inferno."
LINKY

As KdT would say, "A twofer".

Police said Augusto didn't have a required permit for the weapon used in the headline-grabbing shooting the Daily News called a "Pump-Action Ending."

But he was a victim, police said, and no charges had been filed on Friday.
Uh oh....

Two-fer? He shot FOUR of them.

By himself. With a pump-actions shotgun.

Two dead, two injured.

Frida Rodriguez called it "a sad day" for the neighborhood.

Augusto "was defending his work, his business, so you could perceive that as being heroic," she said. "But on the other hand, these kids died."
(1) If Ms. Rodriguez considers these punks valued members of her neighborhood, perhaps she needs an attitude readjustment. [Subtle side-story: Does she not consider the shopkeeper a valued member of her neighborhood?]
(2) I bet these punks weren't "kids".

I read that he nailed all four of them with three shots too. I can't find the link to the story now though.

1 shot, 1 1/3 kill. (OK, since two of them didn't die, 1 shot, 2/3 kill.)

some select quotes
"I told them there wasn't any money. 'Take your gun, put it in your pocket, and go home.' They had a chance to leave," Augusto said.
"I did what I had to do," he said. "It wasn't my choice; it was their choice."
But Augusto's beaten employee -- who would only give his name as J.B. -- had little sympathy.

"Shit went real bad for them, not for me," he said. "I'm breathing. They dead."
Augusto and his employees tried to get back to business as usual yesterday, although it wasn't easy. When a woman came to place a candle outside the shop, J.B. angrily kicked it across the pavement.

"Who's this for?" he demanded of the startled woman. "For the guy who died? F- - - him!"
man, i like this guy

Even Crippled Hippy News thinks this guy did a GOOD THING!
Being a decent man, Gus is upset about having to use violence against these assholes. Gus is welcome to be upset, if that feels right for him.

As for me?

Good on ya, Gus! Keep it up!

I hope someone buys J.B. a beer.

He deserves it for kicking the moonbat's candle.

The candle kicking was indeed inspired. Perhaps the placer will think next time they want to light a candle. Damn drama queens.
