A burglar who broke into a Lehigh Acres, Florida home wound up bloodied and bruised. The homeowners say he picked the wrong couple to mess with.
Deputies say two men broke into the home around 1 a.m. Monday. One of them pointed a gun right at the resident's face while he was still in bed. "He screamed at me, 'Don't move! Don't move!' with vulgarities involved - that wasn't happening in my house. He came to the wrong party," said the victim, who wished to remain unidentified.
The victim is a retired special operations officer for the Coast Guard. His fiancé, who was also in bed, is a former maximum security corrections officer.
More of this story..............
Unfortunately, the goblins got away:
Then the male victim got a hold of the suspect's gun. "At that point I was going to take his life and he begged for his life, 'I don't want to die, I don't want to die, please don't kill me. Let me go,'" said the victim. That's when he took the suspect outside and bashed his head into a truck before the he ran away.

And the perp then took two more shots at the homeowner as he ran away, grazing the man's shoulder. Never should've let him out the door alive, or minus his balls at a minimum.
While the suspect was running away, he was able to fire two more shots at the house. One went through the door, grazing the male victim's shoulder. The Lee County Sheriff's Office is still searching for the suspects.
The victims admit what they did was risky, but because of their law enforcement training, they say they knew how to react.
So did the guy give the perp his gun back, or did the perp have another weapon on him? The law enforcement professionals didn't search the bad guy???
Gee, a Florida story on a Colorado Springs news site. Go figure.

Poor reporting or something is wrong here.
Why would the guy bash the robber's head into a truck after getting his gun and let him go? Then the guy had a chance to shoot some more as he was running away?
This sounds odd to me.

That's 'cause the first story I read had much less info so I searched for something with more details - and that's what I came up with using the short hairs. The story from a Florida station just mentioned a little info, like it was nothing noteworthy, then closed. I wasn't satisfied, so I searched for more.
Since the 'victims' don't want much info published, I wonder how much more info you'd find on this incident, but something smells fishy with this story...........at least how it ends. WTF is up with the suspect shooting back after getting his life spared? Where'd the other gun come from??

If the intended victims truly were CG spec ops and a prison guard, why didn't they hold the perps until the [strike]historians[/strike] police got there. And why didn't they search them before release?

They guy could have run out and he caught him and bashed his head. They other guy could have had a gun or it could have been a New York reload. I often have more than one gun on me....

Yeah, but you have more resources than most perps.

A New York Reload is another gun.
