Initiated the process tonite for me and Mrs Rumpshot to become AZ CCW holders. (Yes I should have done this years ago.)
Expected class date 28 March 2009.
I already have an issue in that I work in a Federal Facility and will not be able to carry inside the building. I have made arrangements that I can carry outside the Federal Building. Don't ask.
More info as it becomes available.
Thoughts?

Good Job! The Boss and I have been CCW holders here in Alabama ever since we moved back here from Iowa (where we had permits, as well).
If it's legal in your state, I think everyone should do it, just to piss off the liberals if nothing else!

Got an interesting comment from the instructor when I called. The state says it may take 60 working days to process the CCW. Last summer the CCW was usually in hand in about 10-14 days. It is taking quite a bit longer now because of the workload involved. Seems to be a much greater demand since November for CCW's in AZ.

I'm due for my third renewal for Florida, non-resident CCW. Going to send it in early this time. Guess they had to hire more office staff due to the huge increase in applications.
Wish more people would apply. Might be an indication to the government that we're not just a small segment of the population that they can ignore.

Have you thought about what you're going to store your piece in while you're at work? If I'd known you were considering such when I was out there, I would have brought
the portable safe (key and touch-button) I got for my mom, which she doesn't use. It's the same one I installed in the RV, and if you use the touch buttons to open it, the interior light comes on, but if you use the key, it does not (battery-saving feature for installation, having it open for a while, etc.). When you push the right buttons, it FLIES open.
You can get additional mounting plates so you can take
the safe with you from vehicle to vehicle. Once crooks get a look at the safe and tug on it a couple of times and see it's not going anywhere, they'll move on due to all the noise they're making and attention they're generating.

EDIT:
I just noticed they're on clearance for $45.00 vs. $62.89. But if you want it, I could probably be convinced to send it to you for the shipping costs. OTOH, if you're coming out this way, I could personally deliver it at the next Rendezvous.
I know there are other safes on the market, even ones that don't cut your hand if you reach in along the top inside of the safe. But I've had precious little experience with ANY other portable safes, so I'm sticking to what I know (and have).
My mom sold her RV a month after I bought the safe, and now she has no need for it, and nowhere to install it.
Are you interested in it?

Mike,
I have a smaller key lock travel box for when I go to the PRK. While at work my vehicle is inside a controlled access area and my vehicle is known by the folks that protect the controlled access. I do like the looks of your safe though and the availability of it through that giant retailer.
With that said, I will be visiting the PRK Mar 13, 14 & 15. Meeting my new Grandson at our desert property near Ocotillo Wells. Will also visit the first or second weekend in May near Ramona.

I have both the DAC and the
Secur-It box. They both work well. The box has a steel cable that can go around your seat frame so the box can hide under your front seat. It's very convenient, but is really only designed for smash-and-grab thieves. You can get two boxes keyed alike from AACFI, if you want one in each car, assuming you have 2 cars.

I went to the WalMart site linked for the DAC and note "Not sold online" and also "Not sold in stores". WTF?
