I have carried a firearm for professional and personal reasons almost every day for more than 30 years.I could probably count the days I went unarmed on my fingers. It has simply become a part of who I am.
Fast forward to today..I am 55 years old and often in business (monkey) suits during business hours. I attend meetings and work in shirtsleeve sessions in conference rooms most days. Offbody carry such as in a briefcase are not only inefficient but pose the danger of loss. I decided to see how it felt to go about unarmed for a while and..get ready for it..It's okay.
Today was the end of the first week without a gun tugging down my pants, ripping up my suit and carseat and making me look for hiding places while I attend business meetings. It was remarkably freeing if a bit weird.
An hour ago the wife asked me to go get some groceries at the local super grocery. I went, but first I threw a 3' .357 in an inside the pants holster with two spare speedloaders in the jacket pocket.
Ah...much better...I'll buy more suits . Old habits, like old gun afficianados die hard.

I imagine you patted yourself a few times to make sure your weapon was still there, only to find it missing and maybe just a short second to remember.
Re: First week unarmed in 30 years
I felt for my gun on my hip about twenty times a day. It was really weird not having it there.
Bottom line, It's easier to go unarmed in the city business life.
Easy or not, I can't do it.

I know it's getting late and I've been staring at too many server consoles in the wee hours, but I swear I saw a picture of a Glock, shirt, pants and belt earlier in this post.

OK.. I saw all black. I'm new to Glocks, but I swear I saw a Glock. Mines in the car so I can't go look. But I saw the square portion of the magazine release on the opposite side of the release button.
I'm on hour 23 though due to work so I may just be delirious.

Just a P3AT in the pocket is better than nothing -- and can be easily concealed in the lightest of suits.
I'm thinking of having my tailor modify the inside chest pocket of a suit so that it'll pull away -- kinda how a wilderness tactical safe packer works. I want to put a strip of velcro, if it'll work, down the side of the pocket, and maybe pad it so I won't need a pocket holster -- essentially, I want to be able to just shove my hand in it, and have the pocket pop apart w. the gun in my hand.

Have any of you Gents ever used a "Belly Band" holster? or a Kramer T shirt holster?
I'm thinking about trying one.

That seems like total overkill. It's completely easy to draw my p3at, housed in a Desantis pocket holster, from my suit-coat inside pocket as it is.I'm thinking of having my tailor modify the inside chest pocket of a suit so that it'll pull away
