Expect to be shot if you burgle gun owners

Maybe there is some hope for the UK after all...

Hopefully the police will now have the good grace to apologise to the innocent victims as well.

It's hardly a Castle Doctrine but it's better than a kick in the teeth.

The Spanish, while being very peaceable by UK standards, think the idea of shooting intruders is a jolly good one.
A Brit expat not all that far from here lit up two Roma burglars during an attempted home invasion and the cops simply checked he had a licence for his shotgun and dragged the corpses away.

That was last year, earlier this year a jewellers son - Spanish this time - with a concealed carry permit ( difficult to get, but not impossible ) was at his fathers house when a gang attempted a home invasion robbery. He chased them off the property onto the street and fatally shot two of them in the back as they were running away. That did go to court. He claimed he recognised the gang as being the same ones who had robbed his father previously and beaten him up. He was acquitted...

Mr and Mrs Ferrie were also arrested and questioned for more than 40 hours on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Of course, it is still Britain...
They were later released without charge.
But I agree, it IS progress...

Deberetts lists the hobbies of the judge in this case as bee keeping and sailing. I have no knowledge, but I suspect he might well be a jolly country gentleman who also rides to hounds and kills a few brace of pheasant come autumn.

I LIKE this judge:
Andrew Frymann, mitigating for O’Gorman, said that being shot had been like a “near-death experience” for which his client was not prepared. Responding to the barrister’s suggestion that O’Gorman was traumatised by the experience, Judge Pert said the arrest of Mr and Mrs Ferrie was just as severe.

“Some might argue that being arrested and locked up for 40 hours is a trauma,” he said.

Maybe Britain is taking baby steps toward regaining some of their good sense. I'd say that shooting home invaders is a good first step.

Bloody gingers.

Jolly good on the judge and the gentleman for lighting them up.

In all fairness, shooting a "roma" in europe is like spraying for mosquitoes as far as the authorities are concerned.
