Trantham was found unconscious outside the home with a handgun, and Johnson was found collapsed at a nearby Tesoro gas station, Parker said.
Both appeared to have been shot in the torso and were taken to local hospitals, where they died, Parker said.
Good shooting, sir!

Excellent work.

Too bad the other two aren't getting felony murder added to their charges.

Based on where this took place (mobile home park), it's probable they were after drugs. Our hero most likely flushed them and then called 911...

Update:
2 survivors in failed robbery charged with manslaughter.
Now two of the dead teens' partners are facing charges for both the robbery and the deaths under an indictment returned by an Anchorage grand jury that was made public Friday. The group planned to steal cash and marijuana from a grow operation at the mobile home, charging documents say.
The grand jury on Thursday indicted Brian Albert Pfister, 18, and Ursula Evelyn Roberta Pico, 21, for manslaughter, robbery, burglary and conspiracy. Police say Pfister was a third robber who escaped when the other two were killed. Pico drove the getaway car, police say. She also is charged with evidence tampering for trying to hide the station wagon.
The homeowner who fired the shots, 55-year-old Larry James, was cleared of criminal wrongdoing related to the shootings, police said.
"It clearly indicates a self-defense issue," said Detective Dave Cordie.
But the District Attorney's Office is still considering drug charges for a marijuana grow operation discovered at James' mobile home, a prosecutor said.
