I did a bunch of 2 gallon mylar bag storage this weekend. Beans, rice, flour, oats, pasta, etc. I put in more than the recommended amount of O2 absorbers, because I like to use the entire pack in one sitting.
Today, I noticed some of the bags are as tight as bricks and others are still a bit loose. Now I know O2 is only 21% of air. But what would cause some of the bags to be sucked tight and others not? Bags of the same food product have different "tightness".

5 boxes of Penne pasta in each. One sealed right after the other. Same amount of 02 absorbers in each. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Mylar Bag Storage Question
I've had that happen with dissimilar types of food (beans/wheat/corn vs. pasta) because of the differing fill rates and the amount of displaced air. Noodles have holes! If you are certain that the slack bag is sealed, I'd have to guess that the 02 absorbers are to blame.
