Suspect Kills Self After Series of Shootings in Yuma, Arizona

YUMA, Ariz. – Police say the suspect in series of Arizona shootings is dead. Carey Hal Dyess, 73, reportedly shot four people and injured one in a series of shootings around Yuma County on Thursday morning before killing himself.
Police have not yet identified the victims, but YumaSun.com reports local attorneys have confirmed one of the shooting victims to be Jerrold Shelley, a Yuma attorney.
Yuma County Sheriff's Office first responded to reports of a woman who may have suffered gun shot wounds around 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Yuma Police Department responded to three more shootings throughout the day.
Yuma police Sgt. Clint Norred says the shootings are connected and are under investigation.
Four of the fatal shootings occurred in Yuma county, while the fifth shooting happened within Yuma, according to Norred.
"The situation has ended and now we're sorting out the details," Yuma Mayor Al Krieger told YumaSun.com. "My sympathies to the families with this loss of life."
The Yuma County Courthouse and local area schools were placed under lockdown, but the lockdown orders have since been lifted.
