Unfortunately, this turd is going to make it so much harder for the census people to be able to do their jobs - and there are GOOD, HARDWORKING, AND HONEST census workers out there doing the right thing. Guys like this give them ALL a black eye. :(

They should string this turd up outside in plain view and let his victim lash him with a cat-o-nine-tails, hopefully one with metal tips on the ends, then bend him over a barrel and let them CANE HIS ASS like they would down in Singapore, so it leaves DEEP scars. And hopefully he'll be thankful he got off with his life intact 'cause I'd just as soon SLOWLY kill his ass. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Pekin, Ind. - A U.S. Census worker has been charged with rape and burglary, after two women in southern Indiana claim they were attacked. One of the victims was a 21 year-old physically handicapped woman. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, he had been with the agency for two weeks.

The attack occurred Saturday morning in Pekin, Indiana in Washington County.

Police said the man broke in while a mother and daughter slept and attacked them. According to investigators, the mother had taken a mild sleeping pill. The man, identified as 39 year-old Daniel Miller, was arrested following the incident. He said he worked for the government.

Four days before the attack, neighbors in the area say they saw Miller in the area on census business. The victim told police Miller had asked about their census information. She said they had already submitted the form. She also told police that Miller stuck around and tried to get more details.

"It's unbelievable that somebody could do something like that and not have a conscience and worry about it," said resident Debbie Bishop.

Miller's apartment is located right across the road from a middle school. When a news crew knocked on the door of his apartment, another man answered. He did not want to go on camera or be identified, however, he did say Miller had two daughters of his own.

Miller was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, held on a $150,000 bond.

There are about 635,000 U.S. Census workers currently going door to door counting Americans who did not return their surveys. They will carry white badges with blue writing. The badges do not have photos. Census workers should also be carrying black canvas shoulder bags and brochures printed in 51 languages. If asked, the census takers are supposed to give you a supervisor's number to call.

Since we returned our survey, (I answered three questions, wife answered four) I don't expect a visit. However, any census worker will be met at the door with Colt snubbie in hand and will be quickly informed that he/she is free to get off of our property posthaste.

Dawg, (German Shorthaired Pointer) doesn't need additional instruction - he already barks and growls at any and all who appear at the front door, no matter who it is, (although he is suitable embarrassed when it is a frequent visitor).

Mike is more lenient than I am. I favor Rope, Tree, Some Assembly Required.......

We had a census man show up the other day. I answered the door with my XD. I held it behind the door, but could have employed it quickly.

We told him yes this is XYZ address and yes # people live here. Good day.

I apparently had a census worker a couple of days ago knock on my door(on my birthday no less), so lightly I did not bother to open it as I was washing some dishes.

A few hours later one of the management crew had knocked on my door, but again I paid it no attention as someone had been knocking at the neighbor's door all weekend. All of a sudden I heard the lock working and jumped up out of my chair to grab my pistol.

By the time the door opened the pistol was a few feet away but my "chair against the door" trick kept him from opening the door more than a few inches. Apparently I scared the hell out of him as he certainly looked quite surprised, and started immediately apologizing. I probably have a pretty decent glare at the least which is nice to know.

He said (very nervously) that he was here to confirm someone was living here, and immediately left after passing me a slip of paper through the crack and exiting post haste. I had, like others, sent in my census slip months ago and was obviously not pleased.

Lessons learned:
-One, pistol needs to be close by, or on me when I am in my apartment. My CCW just expired so I haven't been able to carry it all the time as usual.
-Two, my apartment manager would allow this to happen without my permission. I'll be glad to leave in a little over a month.
-Three, the chair against the door worked like a charm.
-Four, my government loves to waste money, but then we knew that already.

Sory you had a fright. Glad all turned out well.

Some years ago, Mrs Denis and I were living in a rented appartment in Germany. In an absent-minded moment, we managed to ock ourselves out. The manager swore black and blue he had no master key, so I hat to get a lockmith to let us in, for much money.

Upon moving out, we had to have some painting and floor-polishing work done. When I went to drop off the keys and recover our deposit, the manager congratulated me on the nice paint work. He had let himself in for a look-see.

Since then, the first thing I do on moving in, is install my own locks...

You can't do that here, you have to give the landlord a key.

Yes, but how long before the manager realizes the key you made for him doesn't work?

It's hardly your fault. You tried and tried, but it is just that WalMart key-cutter-thingy, and what would you know about locks anyway?

I believe you need to call the police and the C-B and report this shiat-bag. Sorry - I don't buy his excuse. Entering dwellings is **NOT** in their job-description!!!

I had my own visit this week, but I'll post its own thread...

We had our own personal visitation too, even though I had submitted the form as required.

They had sent a census form to my RV, for some reason thinking people were living in it simply because the awning canopy was extended.

The census worker was quite polite, nice, and frequently apologetic for disturbing us. She noted that they had to check ANY vehicle, camper, shed, storage unit, garage, building, etc., that might house people living there (I had tossed the census form addressed to my RV).

It was QUITE APPARENT that she had run into a number of extremely hostile people while doing her job; but she thanked us (and our neighborhood) for being kind to her and taking the time to talk to her just so she could do her job. I got the impression that in more conservative areas, she was treated more like a human, and in more liberal areas, she was treated like an outsider and they only cooperated for the reasons so they might get more free money.

I didn't envy her AT ALL.

Really? And I thought I lived in a poice state... Here, one is perfectly entitled to change the locks on rented property, provided the rental contract doesn't stipulate otherwise. IIRC, our current contract says that the landlord may visit once a year by appointment, to satisfy himself that we're maintainig the property as required. He hasn't done so yet... five years on.
