Word of advice: Don't try & rob someone who's neighbors have a ZS sticker on their car. Bad guys got away, but only because they had bailed before the neighbor could cross the street.

Me and Buddy-Ro received the following comments from our LEOs (that we really grew to like) today: "When Dispatch heard there was a neighbor with a gun, we were all rooting for you to take them down." Also, "The bottom line is that there needs to be more Joe Horns in the world."
That right there is PRICELESS!!!!

Buddy-Ro. I haven't heard that in decades. It was common back in South Carolina when I graduated from High School, but I never heard it elsewhere.

Reading the ZS posting, I'd say they handled it quite intelligently.

I made the mistake of reading the thread. Some posts were fantastic - people I'd love to see here.

Others displayed the same sort of [strike]thoughts[/strike] feelings that essentially define SHEEP.

Then I got to this:
Well, as a LEO who works in a very liberal city, very liberal.....Most on this PD, if not all, would be in favor of more "sheep dogs". Communicating with PD and dispatchers as to your position, weapons and clothing is necessary,...
Damn righ! I like this guy!

Unfortunately he continues:
... and at times, putting the sheepdog on the ground to ensure a safe outcome doesnt mean the sheepdog is no appreciated when it is all said and done.....safety first.
And most of the sheepdogs who read it probably shrugged their shoulders and thought "Yeah... OK...

I remember a time when such would have been beyond consideration, not to mention an unforgivable affront to the citizen.

What on earth makes these people feel entitled to treat a Citizen like a criminal? Why is their safety any more important than mine?

With all of their alleged training and expertise, when they shoot someone they're Monday-morning-QB'd by other cops and can generally count on a few week's paid vacation for the most egregious c.ases.
Example: A pair of cops abuse, torture and kill an unarmed man with third-degree burns over most of his body, whose (according to the cops themselves) skin was hanging off in sheets.

3 weeks off. See 15:36 --> in this video

For more, watch the rest - then remember these are just a few cases of an epidemic.

A citizen who defends himself or his family IN HIS OWN HOME with deadly force on the other hand will - in much if not most of our Republic - will at a minimum spend months to years literally fighting for his life and freedom, and if he escapes will have to do it again for his property. The costs involved are enough to bankrupt all but the most wealthy - they should have let the criminal have whatEVER they wanted because the rape they'll get at the hands of the state and the miscreant's family will last for many years.

I have good friends who are various flavors of cop. They're honorable men in their home - and I truly believe work - environment(s). I know there are true, good men in blue, but they're becoming less common every day.

The sort of attitude displayed throughout the vid above prevails throughout most of our Republic. I can't imagine what our Founders would think of what we've become - sometimes the guilt of having watched it happen is crushing.

Can you imagine how they'd react to an average episode of "Cops" - not to mention the vid I just linked??!!

How can everyone not make the mental connection that the world was a much safer place when police made a polite knock on the door to serve a warrant? It's no coincidence that most homes had all they needed to defend themselves - including a spirit of resistance.

The latter is the root of the creeping tyranny. We've been trained to be passive. Now, (per their twisted ideology) anyone who isn't must be crushed.

DD is right, 100 years ago jews came from Russia and central europe and remarked on how they need not fear the knock on the door in the middle of the night, with one notable example I remember of a shopkeeper who was awakened after midnight by a cop who was polite and apologetic for awakening him to come down and look after some vandalism.
He was impressed and flattered that the cop called him Mister!

How things have changed, with no-knock warrants given as freely as regular warrants were two generations ago.
