Little Kel Tec PF9? Very hidey and less than 300 hundred bucks. Used shot gun? Not so hidey but I bought a Mossberg 590 for under three and honestly, looking at the bolt, I doubt it had ever been used. Someone's eyes were bigger than their wallet.

I think there's more to home defense though than just a weapon for every room. Two things. 1.) Structure 2.) Plan

1.) Door jamb armor, dead bolts, lighting...all make houses look less like targets, more like fortresses.
2.) You should really discuss scenarios with your family. You make every school child in America come up with fire escape plans for home. Why not home invasion?

GREAT point, sir. Thanks for bringing this up.

Also, without knowing this doctor or his family, my gut tells me they were probably like many of the sheeple we encounter daily...you know, with the situational awareness of hamsters.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Which presents a practical problem. It's (in my observation) difficult to get kids to grow up with situational awareness unless they *need* it. No happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever-types in my family- growing up with my mother potentially in the same building (or room!) taught one to be very... aware. I imagine, say DD has even better intuitive/instinctive/automatic situational awareness than I do, and for similar reasons.
Maybe we're just jaded, but your villainy is not particularly impressive. -Ennesby
