Well the hope was it would be in the mail over the weekend. Didn't happen. Best bet then was today with the long weekend it would surely be there. Didn't happen. Will wait til Friday and call then to check.

The Mrs. didn't have many copies of fingerprints on file. Myself on the otherhand have fingerprints on record all over the place. Have held a SECRET security clearance a couple of different times in my life. Fired by the President of the US of A (Reagan!). Who knows what they might find if they go searching my background. :?

Bought a new firearm over the weekend and had no problem clearing the NICS check so should be smooth sailing.

Uh-oh!
It turns out that the new guidelines preclude ear piercing for new applicants. Sorry.

Well, placed the call late Thursday afternoon.

The lady that answered was polite, asked a couple of identification questions, then told me there was one more "check" and it would be processed. Probably take a week or two. :(

Hang in there. A man who's been fired by Reagan can survive anything! 8-)

I have a smaller key lock travel box for when I go to the PRK. While at work my vehicle is inside a controlled access area and my vehicle is known by the folks that protect the controlled access. I do like the looks of your safe though and the availability of it through that giant retailer.

With that said, I will be visiting the PRK Mar 13, 14 & 15. Meeting my new Grandson at our desert property near Ocotillo Wells. Will also visit the first or second weekend in May near Ramona.
Well, now that you've had the safe for a bit, have you found a location to mount it? Don't forget, you can get more than one base-plate to move it from car to car.

Also, unless you find a way to keep it powered while you change the batteries, it WILL reset to the factory default combination. One way I've heard it can be done is through the exterior 12-volt power jack on the side near the front. Since I just changed the batteries in mine, now I have to reset our Sooper-Secret Combo.

At the moment it is still a bedside ready access that contains the wife's new P22. Her .357 is in the nightstand drawer and is even more readily accessable.

I am still waiting on my CCW. Called again on Friday afternoon. The lady that answered the phone was nice and told me there was ONE MORE check to go through and would take one or two more weeks. I told her that was what I was told two weeks ago. She then pulled it up on the computer and looked closer. She said she could clear it and it would "run" on Monday. I hope by "run" she meant print it out. That would make it sound like next week I should have it in hand.

Now to get to the original question. If I use the Sportsafe, it will probably ride on the floor in the back seat of the Xterra. I do have some plans for a new vehicle and that is where the Sportsafe will probably take up (semi) permanent residence.

As long as my "carry" weapon is my S&W model 39, I will continue to use the smaller keylock under the seat. It fits so nicely under there that unless you are expecting to find it, with the floor humps and bumps, it just about disappears. The humps and bumps keep it from sliding out either front or back too.

I just renewed my AZ CCW permit and the process went pretty fast. I was worried about how long it might take given the recent budget problems but it went fast, less than the two weeks it took me to get it the first time.

The Mrs. says it came in yesterday's mail!!! :D :D :D

Now I have to wait til I get home tomorrow afternoon to personally fondle it. :D

79 days, mailbox to mailbox.

Now I need to work on the "concealed" carry part. Also do some open carry.

Still not sure how the clothing "style" I generally adhere to will work out. I do know that around the house, I have carried concealed and the Mrs. did not even notice.
