Winter or summer, I carry my handguns the same way. Unloaded, in a locked container, not accessible to the driver.

Re: Summer carry. Whatcha using?
I use my KelTech 3AT as a pocket pistol in the summer and it works (though obviously not idea because of the cartridge) and it's better than not carrying at all. Unfortunately all my other handguns are too large for the clothes I wear in the FL summer. I am looking at a Springfield XDs, I'm just trying to decide between the 45 and the 9mm. Yes I know they are both valid self defense rounds and I can carry more with 9mm but I am a 45 guy and it is a cartridge I am comfortable with.

I took a look at google images of ankle monitoring bracelets; some of them appeared to be large enough to hold a pocket pistol. A possible option for ankle carry (and talk about misdirection...)

We need to post some pictures so you can show me what you're doing right. With dress slacks and a pocket holster in the front, it still prints more than I'm comfortable with. In the back pockets, it tends to show at the top. The carry part is OK; it's the concealed part of CCW I'm having a problem with when dressed up.Lokidude wrote:Pocket carry. Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Pocket carry my P-32, or put my Taurus 740 in a tuckable holster. I don't have it with me at the moment, and can't recall the make & model. Usually I wear it over a black t-shirt and under an aloha shirt. (The pattern of the aloha shirts tends to hide any printing the IWB gun does.)

The best thing for pocket carry in a suit, for me, is one if those hump back J frames.
The "rounder" the better , even though it will still look like a lump in your pocket - now, if you can use a needle and thread/find a good tailor, a small pocket inside the pocket attached to the back of the pocket to cradle the muzzle etc will hold the gun against the leg, rather than letting it fall out against the exterior if the trouser.

Re: Summer carry. Whatcha using?
I played with a pair of jeans a few years ago for concealing the KelTec P32, with the side clip on the left side. I stitched a moderately thick canvas patch to each outside of the right front pocket (the normal pocket is made of very soft, thin, flexible cloth), and riveted a metal strip bent like a briefcase handle (but only about 1.5" long and standing off about 3/16") using a strip of leather on the exterior of the pocket and canvas to 'reinforce' the area and hold the rivets on the body side inside of the pocket. The strip ran perpendicular to the leg.
The pistol would clip on to this strip and be held up from the bottom of the pocket. The thicker canvas on the outer side of the pocket pretty much obscured the shape.
Problem with it when sitting down, the pistol _could_ come unclipped, being pushed up from the bottom as the leg came up. I still think the idea has merit though and may try again, possibly with a little more than the metal strip inside, something that will contain the pistol muzzle, or perhaps come up partly over the backstrap to prevent the unclipping when sitting down (I'd have to tip the pistol out slightly to draw in that case).
This would be used with one of those rubber plugs that blocks the trigger that you push out when readying to fire since the trigger is completely open otherwise.

FYI, for some reason, some Orvis khakis have the little pocket I was describing. Dropping my P7 PSP in it was how I figured out how well it worked.

Maybe instead of a metal strip, make a long, heavily reinforced button hole?Rich Jordan wrote:I played with a pair of jeans a few years ago for concealing the KelTec P32, with the side clip on the left side.
