Well if I have a shotgun handy I would probably try the tactic of "skipping" the balls off the street into the legs of the crowd. Seemed to work very well for prison riots. Makes me want to find some tarmac and "practice" though.

I've been told that's how the Navy trains folks to clear hostiles from the corridors of ships with shotguns.

However, I wonder how different pavement types would affect the bounce vs steel ship decks. For instance I'd think that warm asphalt would tend to absorb a bunch of energy even if they did bounce.

Maybe we need a DWOT (Driveway Of Truth)?

What are the laws when faced with a mob?

Normally reasonable fear for life or bodily harm allows you to defend yourself but you need to wait for the perp to actually attack you or brandish a weapon. Obviously can't wait for an entire mob to attack you.

Any law regarding this?

On a side note I should throw some extra mags in the car in addition to the several already there.

I think this officially come under judged by 12 being the better option. I don't have to worry about it in FL, its those damn other states that I have to keep track of.

On a side note I should throw some extra mags in the car in addition to the several already there.

30 round between 2 mags in the console plus 15 in the carbine plus 16 in the EDC and 15 in the spare mag on the belt (all .40) plus 6 in the spare mag for the bug (.380) and 7 in the bug if I have it with me. Often times there is also a box of flat nose plinking .40 as well.

I really hope that will be enough by at least a factor off 5 should I ever need to use my firearm in self defense.

I think the mob mentality can be used as an affirmative defense. IIRC that is. Hopefully someone is holding some weapon in their hand and you can start with shooting them.

When I had the Irish Mob incident I was going to fire a warning shot into their car and then start with the nearest one to me if that didn't work. They thought they were going to happen to me but I ended up happening to them. Not a mob per say but a gang.

I ended up being the mob!

It depends - at a certain point, rioters/looters can reach a "shoot on sight" status. The fundamental basis is would a "reasonable" person be in fear of imminent death, and were you actually in imminent fear for your life.

What will happen is the government will spend all its time prosecuting people who defended themselves and not the rioters.
