The excuse of the emergency call from the wife was a lie. He is most likely one of those arrogant pricks that is always looking to start a fight or put someone down. With as much driving as I do I run into those types alot. How you drive really reflects the type of person you are. So it doesn't surprise me that big a$$holes try to always start fights and roadrage.

I can personally attest that open carrying in my Jeep with the doors off have probably averted at least one road rage occasion...

I'm doubtful about the "emergency call from his wife" excuse, too. If it went any further, that should be verifiable by phone records, but if you're really in such a hurry, why get out to threaten someone instead of going around first chance you get?
Don't know about "don't get sucked into road rage", either. Kind of like "don't get sucked into home invasions" or some other claptrap. Glad good sense prevailed (for two out of the three parties involved).
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
