I give cash too. It's not thoughtless, and it's easy for the lazy in everyone. This year, I emptied my piggy bank and came up with $660 in $1 and $5 notes, and $510 in quarters. I rolled the quarters and put them in the bank, but the cash...
I divvied it up among my nephews, nieces, mom, dad, ex-step-kids, etc. Everyone will get a nice fat wad of cash. Each wad may not add up to all that much, but it will look like ten thousand $$$.

Had to buy my GF a Glock 19, so I can get my G17 back outta her hands. She glommed onto it during her CCW course back in May, and just know able to play with it again.
